Meet Dr Nomshado Afolayan
Qualifications: MBChB (Wits), MMed O&G (Wits), FCOG (SA).
Dr Nomshado Afolayan is a dedicated Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who is passionate about supporting women through every stage of life. As an OBGYN in Springs, she approaches her care with evidence-based medicine as well as genuine empathy, ensuring you feel heard and supported.
She completed her MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). Furthermore, she refined her skills through an intensive internship and community service at Klerksdorp-Tshepong Hospital Complex and Jubilee
Hospital. After that, she went back to Wits to do a Master’s in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MMed O&G), and became a proud Fellow of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of South Africa (FCOG SA). She is also fully registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and is an active member of the South African Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (SASOG).
Beyond her formal training, Dr Afolayan has a special interest in women’s reproductive health, safe motherhood, and minimally invasive gynaecological procedures. She regularly builds on her skills through advanced training, ensuring her patients benefit from the latest developments in women’s health.
